Dee Walsh

Head Principal - MMS
walsh  Dee Walsh is from Smithdale, Mississippi.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University in secondary education in 1984 and a master’s degree of education leadership from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1996.

Mrs. Walsh has been an educator for 27 years, with 18 of those years as an administrator.  Prior to moving to Madison, Mrs. Walsh worked for the Harrison County School District for 15 years as a teacher, assistant principal and lead principal.  Mrs. Walsh has served as an assistant principal at Madison Middle School and opened Mannsdale Elementary prior to becoming the head principal at MMS.  Mrs. Walsh was named Mississippi’s Assistant Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals in 2008 and Madison County School District’s Administrator of the Year for 2008 and 2011.

Mrs. Walsh has been married to Randy Walsh for 28 years and they have two children: Bretta is the Amite County forester and Orrin is a senior at Madison Central.  She enjoys horseback riding, hunting and biking.
